I’m passionate about bringing yoga to young people across Galway, offering supportive, inclusive sessions tailored to the needs of teenage girls and young women. I began this work in 2024 through the Girls in Secondary Schools Programme, supported by Galway Sports Partnership and Galway City Council — an initiative aimed at increasing physical activity among teen girls at a time when participation levels often drop sharply.
Since then, I’ve expanded my Teen Yoga teaching across schools, clubs, and community settings. I currently run:
Salerno Secondary School, Salthill — weekly Transition Year Yoga Initiative
Coláiste Éinde (Endas), Salthill — Girls in Secondary Schools Programme in collaboration with Galway Sports Partnership
Rahoon/Newcastle Camogie Club — sports-specific yoga to support mobility, strength, and injury prevention
Knocknacarra Football Club - — sports-specific yoga to support mobility, strength, and injury prevention
Yoga offers teens a valuable way to move, breathe, and reset. Classes can be tailored for exam stress, sports performance, energy and mood support, or simply to help students stretch, strengthen, unwind, and feel more at ease in themselves.
Benefits of Yoga for Teens include:
increased fitness, flexibility & strength
improved posture and body awareness
reduced stress & anxiety
better focus and concentration
hormonal balance & improved immunity
enhanced confidence and self-esteem
overall wellbeing and calmer mood
My approach is non-competitive, accessible, and designed to help young people build a positive relationship with movement and wellbeing — at a time when they need it most.
